What's in a Name?
I've had people ask me where the name PowerJocks comes from. All they can think of is some high school athlete that thinks he's hot stuff.
Well, back at school (Clarkson University) the guys taking Power Generation courses were known as "power jockeys". Since I've been working in the power distribution and generation field for some time now, I became known as a "power jockey".
From there, I shortened up my email address to powerjok. It was an ancient system that only took 8 characters. When I started doing some work on my own I wanted to keep that recognition, so PowerJock Consultants was an easy extension.
Simple as that.
